Where We Come From
The Casbah
A family operation in the Applegate Valley,
making hashish the way it has always been made.
I.
The Word
A casbah is a citadel. A house with thick walls, set apart, where things of value are kept and tended.
Casbah Hash means exactly what it says. The house of hash. The place where it is made, and where it stays itself.
II.
The Valley
We are in the Applegate Valley of Southern Oregon — a quiet pocket of hill country where the summers are long and dry and the nights drop cold enough to bring the resin out.
The cannabis we work with grows here, outdoors, in soil we tend ourselves. Sun, rain, wind, and weather do the rest.
You can taste the place in the hash. That is not a metaphor.
III.
By Hand
Casbah Hash is not a factory. It is a family operation, run by people who know every batch by feel and by sight.
We have grown only as far as the craft allows us to grow. Any larger and we would have to work differently — and the way we work is what makes our hash what it is.
Made carefully, for the people who can taste the difference.
IV.
Who We Make It For
We make hashish for people who already know what good hashish is — and for the ones who are about to find out.
There is no shortcut to that recognition. Either the smoke tells you, or it doesn't.
Our work is to make sure that, when it reaches you, it tells you.
V.
Recognition
In 2023, our hashish joints took third place at the High Times People's Choice Awards in the Best Infused Pre-Roll category.
We were grateful, but the smokers were the ones we were trying to impress in the first place.
Now go find some.
